Canalway Cavalcade, Little Venice
After much last minute hard work on the decorations ...
... Fulbourne, carrying London WRG stalwarts enters Browning Pool.
This years Cavalcade theme was 'Carry On Canals and London WRG's entry was ...
'Carry on Restoring Canals' ...
... and the boat was decorated with the list of all the items being fund raised for in the IWA ...
... 'Right Tool For The Right Job' appeal on behalf of WRG.
Some people had smaller boats than others!
Liz patiently waits for Fulbourne to get back ...
... - it did eventually ...
... and the next job was to prepare the tickets and prizes for the 'Waterways Name Game' stall. Unfortunately all the booze on the roof did nothing to change London WRGs reputation!
On the Saturday evening 25 of us squeezed into the basement of a Paddington Indian Restaurant ...
... where a good time was had by all.
Mark holds forth ...
... whilst Moose heads up the top table.
At the pub after Dave Miller wishes he hadn't drunk so many bottles of Cobra beer!
Sunday bought out the Waterways name game stall ...
... and the new 'Splat the WRGie ' game.
Community boats 'Pirate Castle' and 'Tarporley' provided much of the accommodation for volunteers over the weekend.
Sunday evening and Sally does her best to lower London WRG's reputation even further!
We obviously bribed the judges enough to win the best decorated boat prize for groups once again, Sally & Martin pick up the Buckby can prize and more importantly, the cheque.
Meanwhile back at the stall Sally decides that its about time to put in some winning tickets.
Eddie and Harry ou on a trip ...
... but Harry is soon back on dry land fishing for a lost plug (Not the one to drain the canal I hope!)
Rupert and Alison take 'Shirley' in the historic boats parade.
Monday evening and we just manage to get rid of the last prizes ...
... and Richard checks that the splat the WRGie doll has survived.
The sunset that evening was just asking to be photographed ...
,,, which is more than can be said for Tipcat
Lots of hard work getting the site packed up, a final beer then off to a well earned bed.
Thanks to all those involved in the weekends activities, London WRG raised over £800 over the weekend, half of which is going to the 'Right Tool For The Right Job' appeal
