The rally took place adjacent to the the remaining two tidal mills at Bromley By Bow in East London on the River Lea.

The rally was held in conjunction with the Rueell Newbery register who bought along over twenty boats ...

St Pancras Cruising club, another partner in the event, organised boat trips around the Isle Of Dogs on both days going out of the rebuilt Bow Locks (or Bow Lock as it is now) and returning via Limehouse lock and the Limehouse Cut.

The entertainments werer based around the marquee kindly lent by West London Motor Cruising Club

Dave Young of IWA South London Branch brought along his swings and Try Your Strength amusements ...

... and our other partner in the event - Lee Valley Regional Park, provided entertainers.

Throughout the weekend youngsters from Tideway Venturers gave canoe demonstrations ...

... and coracle training in the rain!

On the Sunday we had a church service in the Marquee.

The Lower Lea Project were running trips over the weekend on their boat "Pride Of The Lea"

On the Saturday evening there was a slightly rain soaked BBQ and a boaters quiz - not many boating questions though!

The good weather carried on through to Sunday much to the relief of the outdoor stallholders.

A view of the Railtrack/Underground bridges - the floating excavator beyond is preparing for major refurbishment works to the bridge.

Works were also in progress in refurbishing the road bridge into the old gas works site, much to the annoyance of those moored underneath!

A view of the House Mill which has been restored as a (non working) tide mill - well worth a visit.

On the Sunday evening members of the Tideway Venturers were presented with their Junior Skipper awards and certificates for their earlier expedition around the Bow Back Rivers.
